Our Why
How It All Started
Wingmom was founded by Meg Hurst and Kate Maxwell in 2017. Although Meg left Wingmom in 2019, Meg and Kate are still best friends and the spirit of their friendship is still reflected in Wingmom today.
It all started when Kate lost her fiancé in the line of duty during a fire in 2016; Kate was devastated. Losing her partner changed who she was and the things she viewed as important. Kate found herself wondering about her future and searching for her next steps. She was grateful to be surrounded by a group of women who supported her and she knew she wanted to help others as she had been helped during her time of need. When she got back on her feet, she was given a purpose with the help of Wingmom co-founder Meg and ultimately Wingmom was born.
As Wingmom grew, Kate knew what her calling was and vowed to create an extensive support system for people in need of a little extra help. By the end of 2024, and with the help of now co-owners, Susan France and Anna Steppich, Wingmom had grown to 5 branches in 4 states with plans to continue spreading Wingmom to communities who need their own support village. To this day, Wingmom is still proudly women owned, women run and largely powered by women.
Why North Fulton
Her Why
Natalia Beley is a dedicated entrepreneur who joined Wingmoms North Fulton (Atlanta) in 2025 after owning and operating her own gift shop for five years. As a working mom, she understands firsthand the challenges of balancing career, family, and life’s many demands. While running her business, she also raised two teenage boys and cared for her father during his battle with Alzheimer’s.
After relocating with her family from Pennsylvania to Roswell, GA, in 2019, Natalia recognized the growing need for extra support among busy families—help that previous generations may have relied on from nearby relatives. With more people living away from family, she saw firsthand how essential a trusted support system is. That’s why she’s passionate about the mission of Wingmom: providing the helping hand that so many families need.
In her free time Natalia loves traveling with her husband Rick and two sons Ryan and Matthew. She also loves playing tennis, doing crossword puzzles and being outside in the southern sun.
